SQL Server Performance Root Cause Analysis in 10 Minutes

This year I was honored to be selected by Dell Software to present a ten minute session in their booth (#200) at the 2013 SQL PASS Member Summit. I decided to share how I do a SQL Server Performance Root Cause Analysis in 10 minutes with the SQL Community.

    It’s a pleasure to see you over here.

    You are correct, you don’t need 10 minutes to find the root cause to most of your performance issues. 10 minutes is stated because its the time of the session and I plan to explain the basics of what the scripts included in the blog post do and also plan to include a few stories.

    Also, I love the improvements in the SQL Server product that keep on coming our way. Personally, I think were are at the point where a good runbook could be built to have most junior DBA’s find the root cause to a performance issue and pass it on up to the next level of support.

    I think I might have found a another great blog post topic. Anyway, I look forward to seeing you at the Welcome Reception tonight.
